Compatible Income Generating Activity and Village Saving and Lending Association (VSLA)

NMHDO empowered 61 women household heads economically in its integrative environmental protection project, after organizing the women in Village Saving and Lending Association (VSLA) which is composed of 12 members each, NMHDO injected financial support to the women in a form of compatible Income Generation Activity; poultry production and beekeeping after the five days basic business skill training. Through this project, NMHDO impacted the lives of a total of 305 individuals in Laelay Maichew wereda. NMHDO is continually supporting these groups in its scheme to link them with the local, national and regional market especially the apiculture IGA, which has a more compatible relationship with Environmental protection project and a promising demand from the international market.
